On October 13, 1775, America was still fighting for its independence when the Continental Congress authorized the creation of the Continental Navy. Even before this country had secured its freedom, it understood that freedom would have to be defended.

Two hundred and fifty-one years later, that responsibility continues.

Across generations, American Sailors have answered the call to serve, standing watch at sea and carrying this nation's flag around the world. Their service is part of America's story, written by people willing to take on the responsibility of defending the country they love.

At TEVET, our work is connected to that mission. As a veteran-led company, we have a deep respect for those who serve and a profound appreciation for the freedom they help protect. Supporting the people and missions that defend this country is personal to us.

For 22 years, people have put their trust in TEVET. These photos show some of the relationships behind that trust.

Customers like Rita Brooks at SAIC and Marianne Tenore at BAE Systems are part of that story. We’re grateful for the opportunity to work with them, and for relationships that have continued long after a project or contract ended. To our suppliers, thank you for helping us deliver on the commitments we make.

We also believe in helping others build something of their own. Through the Veteran Institute For Procurement, TEVET founder Tracy Solomon and Carlos Rivera have taught fellow veteran small-business owners, sharing experience that others can put to work.

Our relationships with Wreaths Across America and Holston Home for Children reflect another part of who we are. Being part of a community means taking an active role in it, not simply having an address there.

And at the heart of TEVET are our employees, past and present. These photos span different chapters, but every chapter exists because people brought their talent, commitment, and care to this company.

Did you know that federal contracting can create opportunities for businesses located in historically underutilized communities?

That's the purpose behind the HUBZone program. The SBA provides certified HUBZone businesses with access to certain federal contracting opportunities, including contracts set aside specifically for HUBZone businesses.

The goal is bigger than the contracts themselves. The program is designed specifically to support job growth and economic development in the communities where these businesses operate.

The Constitution is more than a document from our past. It is a responsibility carried forward by every generation.

Last Thursday, members of TEVET’s executive team joined the Tusculum University community for its Constitution Day luncheon, featuring former Vice President Mike Pence.

Vice President Pence spoke about the lifelong personal significance the Constitution has held for him and his belief that Americans must continue to study it, cherish it, and defend the principles it protects.

That message has particular meaning for TEVET. As a veteran-founded company supporting the defense and national security community, we are reminded that the oath taken by America’s service members is a commitment to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Today marks 79 years of the U.S. Air Force.

Since its creation in 1947, generations of Airmen have carried out the mission around the world, often far from home. Their service has helped protect our country through some of its most consequential moments.

September 18 also marks POW/MIA Recognition Day.

We remember the Americans who were captured during their service and those who remain missing. We remember the families who have spent years waiting for answers.

As a veteran-led company, TEVET has a deep respect for the people who have carried that responsibility and for the families who have carried it with them. Today, we celebrate the Air Force’s 79 years of service and remember those who never made it home.

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation changed forever.

On September 11, 2001, 2,977 innocent lives were taken at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93. We remember them, the families who still carry that loss, and the first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away.

We also remember the men and women who answered our nation’s call in the days and years that followed, many serving far from home and making sacrifices that continue to this day.

For those of us who have served, and for those whose work supports the men and women defending our country, September 11 is more than a date on the calendar. It is a reminder of the responsibility we share to protect the freedoms that were attacked that morning.

Twenty-five years later, we remember. We honor. We remain grateful.

John brings more than 25 years of leadership and operational experience across the public and private sectors. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Culmen International, where he provided executive leadership across the company’s operations and business functions. His expertise spans operations, government contracting, program management, quality management, regulatory compliance and strategic planning.

As COO, John will serve as a key member of TEVET’s executive leadership team, helping translate our strategy and vision into action across the organization. His leadership will help strengthen alignment and accountability across our business functions while ensuring our teams have the direction, resources and support they need to succeed.

John’s addition to the team reflects TEVET’s continued investment in our people, leadership and operational capabilities as we position the company for our next phase of growth.
