On August 14th, ASCA reported that the budget to fund the substantial work required to repair last winter's storm damage to two locations on Arroyo Seco Road, championed by Chris Lopez, had been approved by Monterey County Supervisors and a request for bids from competent companies requested.

We are pleased to announce that Graniterock (https://www.graniterock.com ) has been awarded the contract to perform all the repair work at both sites and the repair work will begin in earnest next week.

As there is no cell phone coverage at either work site, ASCA has partnered with Arroyo Seco Internet to provide a WIFI Hotspot on Arroyo Seco Road that is equidistant to the two worksites (MP2.5 and MP4.0) as a public service. This will allow the county staff and managers of Graniterock working on the repairs to never be more than one or two minutes away from WIFI enabled cell phone and laptop communication inside their vehicles. As the alternative is to force these individuals to drive back and forth to the Green Bridge to communicate with their associates at the County Offices or Corporate Headquarters, this will significantly improve their efficiency of communication.

I worked in construction for my father, Jack, a land developer for 10 years where I also earned a pilots license and flew light planes. I then obtained a general engineering contractor's license and a C-57 license to drill water wells and construct and operate pumping systems. I am a master in the operation, maintenance and repairing large construction equipment, including bull dozers, graders, backhoes and well drilling rigs. I owned and operated a well drilling business for 14 yrs and have built three houses, working alone, from the ground up. Prior, I was employed by the Monterey County Office of Education Media Center for over 39 years, where I Supervised the Media team that ran and operated the studios at MCAET/Monterey County Office of Education TV Studios that are housed at the Monterey County office
