🚁 Drone Line Inspections Begin September 8

Starting next Tuesday, September 8th we will have a contractor working on our system doing line inspections via drone technology. The company’s name is Zeitview, and this is the third year that we have utilized their services.

This year’s project will incorporate the south feed of Milner’s Corner substation at 1000N and 600E and will encompass lines from 1000 North going south as far as 500 North and from 1050 East going west as far as 50 West.

Doyle S. Baker
1944-2026

We are deeply saddened by the passing of former NineStar Board Member Doyle S. Baker on August 17, 2026.

Doyle was a dedicated leader, educator, and cooperative member since 1988. He served on the Central Indiana Power board starting in 2005 and retired as a director of NineStar Connect in 2014. Doyle took his leadership role to heart, completing top credential programs through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association to better serve our community.

A Purdue graduate, Doyle brought his immense expertise from Eli Lilly and Co. into the classroom, teaching industrial technology and mentoring countless students.

Doyle lived in Greenfield with his wife, Rebecca, and was a devoted father to their six children.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Baker family and our profound gratitude for Doyle’s years of visionary leadership.

He will be greatly missed.

NineStar kicked off this morning with yet another wonderful community project. NineStar Connect employees and volunteers from Regreening of Greenfield—including Virgil Bliell, Al Parsons, and Sally Parsons—teamed up this morning to mulch over 80 trees along the Broadway Street extension. Local partnerships like this make a huge difference in keeping community spaces beautiful and keeping young trees healthy and as a result our community continues to thrive.
