As a child, I’ve always loved turning the pages of my grandparents’ photo albums to immerse myself into an era of sheer class and sophistication!! Seeing beautiful brown skin tones dressed to the nines made my heart ♥️ flutter. This was one reason why I wanted to attend an The fashion alone that I would see walking the halls or people-watching sitting on the strip in front of the bookstore ignited my love of style! I couldn’t just wear jeans to class, I had to create an attire to head to to sit in my circuits class! I’m enamored by our culture, how we used to be seen as human and establish our dignity and pride in a world that only embraced our strength to build a country as possessed property. Cheers 🥂 to this campaign, may it continue to expose the talent of HBCU and black creatives and give a child like me a passion for the art of fashion!

Through rare archival footage and narration from students, faculty, and alumni of and , our first-of-its-kind film explores the use of style as an expression of aspiration, a form of self-empowerment, and a tool of resistance. It offers a thesis about the inception of historically Black colleges and universities and the philosophies of living that they entrench within their students and American culture through the lens of two iconic institutions.

In stories told through film, ink, and thread, Ralph Lauren revisits a legacy of American collegiate style in partnership with Morehouse and Spelman Colleges.
