🚨 The trucking industry might be headed for a MAJOR shake up…
There’s growing discussion around proposed changes that would force freight brokers to:
▪️ Show carriers the ACTUAL rate confirmation / invoice from the shipper
▪️ Limit broker margins to around 3% on loads
▪️ Increase transparency between shippers, brokers & carriers
For YEARS drivers and carriers have questioned:
“How is the load paying $5,000 but the truck only sees $1,800?” 👀
If something like this ever fully passes, it could completely change the freight game:
✅ More transparency
✅ Better trust in the industry
✅ Potentially higher pay for carriers & owner operators
✅ Less hidden markups
✅ More accountability
But on the other side…
Some say brokers handle:
📞 Negotiations
📋 Load sourcing
⚠️ Risk management
💰 Credit/payment risk
🕒 Customer relationships
So the real question is…
What’s FAIR compensation without killing the middleman role entirely? 🤔
One thing is certain:
The transportation industry is changing FAST.
And the carriers that stay informed will always move smarter than the ones that don’t. 🚛💨
