And if you're interested in a little back story....
When praying about applying for this trip one day, I "randomly" came across this book I own by Heidi Baker, who founded the childrens home we will be visiting. "What a 'coincidence'", I thought, smiling to myself. I thanked God and I continued to ask for more confirmation. Later that day I "randomly" stumbled upon a forgotten Holiday Inn sticky note I had kept from a year ago with a dream written down with my 3 AM chicken scratch handwriting. However, as soon as I saw it, vivid memories of the dream began to fill my mind. I remember holding this little girl in my arms and having a little boy by my side as we sat at what felt like an African beach. I remember being there with Heidi Baker, even though she wasn't there at the moment. There was a glorious rainbow over the girl and I told her "He is showering his drops of love on you"🌈💦 while tapping her nose like gentle rain. When I looked over I saw the boy had sand on his face and eye lids. I told him I loved him while wiping it off from his eyes.
With tears filling mine, I said thank you God for confirmation! 😭
We are honored to have such an opportunity to sit with the spiritually and physically hungry, the poorest of the poor, and allow them to teach us about the Kingdom of God.
This has been a dream of ours for years, and I love the way God confirms and gives us the desires of our hearts as we seek him first!
