This one’s for Dolly. 🤍✨

There was something about her, the humor, the kindness, the confidence, and the way she never seemed to apologize for taking up space in the world.

So in honor of a woman who reminded generations of us to dream big and get in the game, we wanted to celebrate some of the women right here in our little corner of the world doing exactly that.

Speaking. Graduating. Teaching. Advocating. Building. Showing up in our community. Trying something new even when it’s scary. Supporting each other when things don’t go as planned. And celebrating each other when they do.

We’ve set out to do a lot together, and watching the women in this office grow into new roles, chase their own goals, and encourage one another along the way has been one of the best parts.

And maybe that’s the reminder for all of us:

Do the thing.
Apply for it.
Say yes.
Speak up.
Take the chance.
Let yourself be seen.
Cheer loudly when another woman wins.

None of us knows what’s around the corner.

But Dolly was right, you’ve got to get in the game. 🤍

Here’s to the women who do. And to the women who remind the rest of us that we can.

Psychology doesn’t just happen in the therapy room. ✨

A little look back at the YWCA YWCA Westmoreland County EmpowerHer event, and a reminder of how much we love taking what we do beyond the walls of our office.

Our team is continually out in the community presenting, teaching, collaborating, leading wellness experiences, sharing resources, and creating opportunities for meaningful conversations about mental health.

EmpowerHer gave us the chance to talk about mindfulness, connection, and what it means to come back to ourselves, and it’s exactly the kind of community work we love doing.

Because mental health isn’t just something we talk about in therapy. It’s part of our workplaces, relationships, organizations, schools, and everyday lives. 🤍

We’re grateful to be part of a community that makes space for these conversations.

We’re so happy to welcome Trinity, our Outreach Coordinator Intern, to the team!

Trinity brings so much creativity, warmth, and energy to this role. She loves meeting new people, loves a good conversation, and is excited to get out into the community, build connections, and help connect people with care.

She’ll graduate this spring with her degree in psychology from Pitt-Greensburg, and we’re so excited to have her sharing her talents with us along the way.

If you see Trinity out in the community, be sure to say hi, she’d love to chat! 🤍

What an incredible week!

Georgie has officially passed the ASWB Clinical Social Work licensing exam, earning her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential. This is a significant professional milestone that reflects years of education, supervised clinical experience, and dedication to providing the highest quality care.

As if that wasn’t enough, she was also elected to serve as one of Pennsylvania’s representatives on the ANCOR Board of Representatives. ANCOR is a leading national organization dedicated to advancing services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, making this a tremendous opportunity to advocate for individuals, families, and providers across Pennsylvania and beyond.

We are so proud of Georgie, not only for her clinical excellence, but for her commitment to leadership, advocacy, and improving systems of care. Our clients, our team, and our community are fortunate to have her.
Please join us in congratulating Georgie on these outstanding accomplishments! 👏

We were so happy to host Megan! She did a wonderful job and will be very successful! Thank you to the Experience Works Plus program!

🌟 Experience Works! PLUS Intern Spotlight: Megan Lynch

Megan is completing her internship with Authentic Perspectives, where she has gained hands-on experience supporting psychological testing, preparing educational materials, assisting with client scheduling, and creating outreach content. One of her favorite experiences has been presenting weekly lessons at the Mosaic Community Development Center, where she teaches children about social and emotional learning skills.

“This internship has allowed me to work alongside licensed therapists and other professionals, giving me firsthand insight into the daily work of a therapist. Through this experience, I have become more confident in my goal of becoming a therapist and feel reassured that I am pursuing the right career path for me. I have learned so much about the field of psychology during this internship and have gained a deeper understanding of what my future career may entail.”
