So I wrote our governor an email i will be posting my initial email, and when his cabinet reaponds i will post that also. I want this person to answer question, and be seen by all of us as to what his opinions are on the subject.
Hello sir, my name is Patrick Bailey. I am a resident of Kentucky, and a navy veteran. I have been keeping up with the latest on school shootings, and want to tell you what I have been doing, and ask a couple of questions.
I have started a movement in my home town of Greensburg here in small town USA. The movement is called M.A.S.H. which stands for military and students health. Since Uvalde I have been trying to get local leaders to support more school security. I have purposed that veterans be allowed to run outside security for the outside perimeter of our schools full time. To act as a buffer, and create an exterior form of security to our schools to deter and take on threats to schools before they actually get inside our schools. To do a couple of things. One allow more time for lock downs to occur. Second allow the resource officers to be better prepared if the outer perimeter was breached, and third allow local law enforcement more time to react. I have had a lot of support from all the individuals who run this town. They understand for this to work legislation is going to have to change.
My question to you sir, one what is your stance on current security levels in our public schools here in kentucky? Two, do you think gun free zones will ever be lifted to a point to allow state paid employees wether veterans or not could patrol the exterior of our schools? Three why is security inspections only conducted once a year? We have so many schools in the state if we need more inspectors to keep schools on their toes about inspections why not hire them. We all know once the yearly inspection is complete security from that point forward is relaxed. I hope to hear from you on this topic. I will inform you i do have a page that is pointed to this problem we have nation wide, but maily here in kentucky. I will be posting this email, and your responce so everyone may see it. Thank you and have a great day
