Last week, the members of WBN came together at Brushes & Beans for a fun night filled with creativity, laughter, great conversation and meaningful new connections. It was so nice to step away from our everyday routines, enjoy each other’s company and spend time networking in such a relaxed and creative atmosphere.

This week, we’re excited to spotlight Vandye Nelson of the WBN Murrysville Chapter, owner of 60 Minute Missions Escape Room!

Vandye originally joined WBN nearly nine years ago as a way to connect with women business leaders and introduce a new business—and a new concept—to the area. What she found along the way was so much more.

💬 “The friendships I have made over the past nine years are invaluable.”

Today, Vandye finds joy in watching friends and families come together, have fun, and create memories at 60 Minute Missions.

And her advice to other women in business?

With 14 Women’s Business Network chapters throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area, each meeting twice a month, there are approximately 28 opportunities every month to connect with women in business.

WBN members have the opportunity to visit other chapters, expand their network, build meaningful relationships, exchange referrals, and make connections throughout the region.

And the opportunities don’t stop with chapter meetings! WBN also offers regional events, Lunch & Learns, educational programs, and other opportunities throughout the year.

Leslie Krygowski of Silpada Jewelry ✨

Leslie Krygowski dazzled us with her Business Profile and shared some great jewelry tips! 💍

Leslie has been with Silpada for more than 20 years, turning what started as an opportunity after being downsized from corporate life into a successful and rewarding career.

We learned that Silpada sterling silver is .925, nickel-free and won’t turn your skin green. Leslie also reminded us to keep jewelry out of showers, pools and hot tubs and that wearing sterling silver regularly actually helps prevent tarnish!

One of our favorite stories was Leslie’s first opportunity to earn a Silpada trip to Aruba. When her husband said, “IF you earn the trip…” Leslie took that as motivation. She earned it, then told him she’d decide IF she was taking him! 😂🏝️

That determination has earned Leslie awards, trips and opportunities to train at national conventions. Today, she continues sharing her love of Silpada through parties, fundraisers and gatherings.

At our last meeting, Gina Giacchino reminded us why 27 years of experience truly matters in real estate!

Gina began her career in 1999, when agents carried large binders filled with property photos and information and buyers typically toured just a few homes before finding the right one. Since then, she has worked with two other major real estate companies, owned the Shiring Agency, managed rental properties and helped countless clients buy and sell their homes.

After discovering that her true passion was working directly with buyers and sellers, Gina sold her agency and eventually returned “home” to Coldwell Banker Realty. Today, she combines decades of hands-on experience with Coldwell Banker’s innovative technology and resources to provide knowledgeable, efficient and personalized service.

Gina also shared some valuable real estate insights:

🏠 Zillow can be a helpful resource, but it isn’t the best tool for accurately pricing a home.

💰 Pricing correctly from the beginning is critical. Starting too high with the intention of negotiating later can cause a property to sit on the market.

📝 The highest offer isn’t always the best offer. Price is only one part of the equation, and every term should be carefully evaluated.

🔑 An experienced agent helps clients anticipate challenges, understand their options and move through the process as smoothly as possible.

What a great meeting last week!
Jean Smarto, author, speaker, ICF Certified Professional Coach, and former corporate executive, who encouraged us to live and lead according to our core values.

Jean reminded us that when we stay true to our values, we're more likely to experience happiness, purpose, and fulfillment. She challenged us to believe in ourselves, dream big, advocate for what we want, embrace lifelong learning, and trust our instincts. One message that resonated with everyone was that positivity is contagious... and so is negativity. The mindset we choose each day matters.

Jean also shared the importance of mentorship, resilience, and being open to new opportunities at any stage of life, making her message a perfect fit for WBN.
Thank you, Jean, for reminding us that growth begins with believing in ourselves and striving each day to become a better version of who we are.
