Battery storage is not only a technology decision.

It is a business model decision.

For commercial and industrial sites, the structure determines who funds the BESS, who operates it, who tracks performance, and who carries long-term risk.

ESaaS can reduce upfront CapEx and shift more responsibility to the provider.

Ownership gives the customer maximum control and full access to financial upside.

Hybrid models can preserve ownership while outsourcing operations, maintenance, or optimization.

The strongest model depends on the site’s capital strategy, internal energy expertise, tariff opportunity, resilience requirements, and long-term operating plan.
