As we celebrate Easter, we are reminded of the power of faith, the strength of family, and the precious gift of life. For us at Horizon Coffee, this season holds an even deeper meaning.
Back in November 2021, our owner went to the doctor for what seemed like a lingering cough. What followed was something none of us could have imagined. His oxygen levels were dangerously low, and he was immediately sent to the hospital. Shortly after, we got the call that doctors were placing a forced oxygen mask on him. But his oxygen levels kept dropping. The next call came that he needed to be trached. He was diagnosed with Covid pneumonia.
He spent weeks in the ICU, in an induced coma. Doctors called us daily with difficult updates, often saying "It’s not looking good." But we refused to accept that. We stood in faith. We prayed. We believed.
While he was fighting for his life, our family stepped up to keep the business running the business quieting behind the scenes while also visiting him every day. No one on the outside knew what we were walking through. It was one of the toughest seasons of our lives.
Eventually, he made it out of the ICU, but the battle wasn’t over. He had to go to rehab to relearn how to walk and eat. And just as we thought we were turning a corner, he was rushed back to the hospital. Doctors found a hole in his lung. Emergency surgery was the only option.
Today, by the grace of God, he is still here. And we don’t take that lightly.
This Easter, we celebrate with overwhelming gratitude. We don’t take a single breath for granted. We are thankful for healing, for hope, and for the love that carried us through. Thank you to everyone who has supported Horizon Coffee along the way.
From our family to yours,
Have a Blessed Easter
