MAJOR WINTER STORM AHEAD 🚨

What to know right now:
What: Heavy sleet followed by significant icing
When: Saturday mid-morning through Sunday night (long-duration event) ⏳
Impacts: Dangerous to impossible travel and high risk for widespread power outages lasting days ⚠️

We have not seen a winter storm like this since 2014, and the numbers I’m seeing now are higher than 2014 and comparable to major events from 2005. That alone demands attention.

❄️ STORM EVOLUTION & IMPACTS
Conditions should remain quiet until Saturday afternoon, when the first batch of light snow and sleet moves in.
For some, this begins mid-morning
For others, impacts may not arrive until Saturday evening
• Saturday into early Sunday:
• Expect significant sleet accumulation, with up to 4 inches possible in some areas before icing even begins
• Sleet compacts like rough ice — it looks like snow but behaves like ice
• The core of the storm arrives Saturday evening, continuing through Saturday night and Sunday.
• This system contains the equivalent of 2–3 inches of liquid, falling almost entirely as frozen precipitation — that is extreme.
• As temperatures hover near freezing, sleet is expected to transition to freezing rain, creating a thick ice layer on top of the sleet.
• Ice amounts are very concerning:
• ½ inch of ice would be damaging
• I’m seeing 1 to 1.5 inches, with isolated higher totals possible
• This scenario supports widespread tree damage and prolonged power outages
• Travel:
• Roads would become impossible to drive, especially once freezing rain begins

WIND + EXTREME COLD = BIG ISSUES
• Saturday night into Sunday, winds increase:
• 25–35 mph gusts
• Up to 45 mph in the mountains
• Ice + wind significantly increases the risk for downed trees and power lines

AFTER THE STORM:
• Brutally cold air follows
• Models continue to show near-record or record cold
• Potential lows:
• Near zero in the Upstate
• Below zero in Asheville by Tuesday morning
• Next week:
• Ice-covered ground will keep highs near or below freezing into mid-week
• Any melting will be minor until Wednesday-Thursday and will refreeze each night, keeping road conditions dangerous for days 🧊

🔄 LOOKING AHEAD
• All three major models — European, GFS, and Canadian — indicate another system next weekend, potentially involving snow.
• If that verifies, recovery efforts could be significantly slowed.

Bottom line:
This is a high-impact, long-duration winter storm with serious sleet and ice concerns. Preparation should begin now.

I promise to stay with you through this event with frequent updates as new data comes in.
Please tell me where you’re located in the comments — and thank you for trusting me to guide you through this.

I got over 10 reactions on one of my posts last week! Thanks everyone for your support! 🎉

I met the saddest version of myself this year, too—the one who moved through life on autopilot, carrying weight no one else could see. I lost my spark, my clarity, my sense of direction. I lost pieces of myself I thought were permanent, parts I never imagined I’d have to go searching for again. Some days it felt like everything familiar had slipped through my fingers at once.

But here’s the part that matters: I’m still here. And I’m working on finding my way back to me again.

That doesn’t mean it’s easy. Healing isn’t linear, and rediscovering yourself doesn’t happen in one brave moment. It happens quietly—when you get out of bed even though your heart feels heavy, when you choose rest instead of self-blame, when you stop pretending you’re okay and start being honest with yourself. It happens when you forgive yourself for surviving the only way you knew how at the time.

Losing your spark doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. Sometimes it just goes dormant, buried under grief, exhaustion, disappointment, or betrayal. Sometimes you had to fall apart to see what was never truly aligned. The version of you that struggled wasn’t weak—it was overwhelmed, hurting, and still trying to endure.

Finding your way back doesn’t mean becoming who you used to be. It means becoming someone wiser, more self-aware, more protective of their peace. Someone who knows their limits now. Someone who understands that softness and strength can exist in the same body.

Take your time. Rebuilding yourself is not a race. Every small step counts—every boundary set, every moment of self-compassion, every day you choose not to give up on yourself. You’re not broken. You’re becoming.

And the fact that you’re trying—right now, after everything—that tells me your spark is already flickering back to life.
