Edit Info- For those wondering 🧐 about the mixed wood colors of old, and the new wood, the entire structure will be stained next year once the NEW treated wood has had the opportunity to properly dry.

Hey gang…This was a fun project 🤗!

It started with several discussions 🤔with one of my best clients about a vision of how her existing covered deck could be enclosed with screening, and an enclosed knee-wall, that would both keep squirrels and bugs 🐞 out of her living space while keeping her inquisitive puppy from being able to jump through the screens to chase said squirrels 🐿️ that frolic in her yard?

So a plan (Home Solution) was born, design was completed, and another dream became reality 🤗!

It’s hot 🥵 outside so just throwing out a reminder that it’s “power washing season” 🤗!

Here in southern Illinois, we live in a Petri dish of mold and mildew growing on all of the exterior surfaces of our homes during these muggy Summer months

Greetings Gang 🤗 from Big Guy Home Solutions! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted due to things being so busy but…

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day , and is looking forward to America's fast approaching 250th Birthday Party!

This week’s featured project involved removing all the old metal screens from a beautiful covered deck, and replacing them with new “Phifer Better Vue Fiberglass Screening” that creates such an unobstructed view…that you forget that you’re even in a screened in space!

So it’s been a minute 🧐 since I posted anything because I’ve been working so very hard over the past several weeks doing a myriad of home improvements for my clients that enhance their daily lives.

Recent projects have included many entry and storm door replacements, screening in porches, electrical fixture replacements, shutter replacements, and several partial…and whole home wash downs.

Good Friday Morning Gang!

Big Guy Home Solutions project of the week was one that I thoroughly enjoyed doing 🤗…and it involved the “re-screening of a beautiful covered porch” that will allow my clients to enjoy the outdoors without being bothered by pesky bugs, or other outside elements!

I have been looking (for a good while 🧐) for a modular type screening system that can be adapted to almost any type of covered porch or deck for my clients…and I’ve finally found it!

Good Monday Morning Gang 🤗!

Providing another update on a few of the Spring 2026 improvements that Big Guy Home Solutions has been providing for my valued clients…

Recent jobs have included the assembly/building of a new Sam’s Club purchased Patio Structure for (Russ and Pam) that definitely had more pieces than I thought were possible 😬 for a kit that allegedly 🤪 is considered to be a DIY kit 🤗? It turned out beautifully!

Other projects have included my continued mission of replacing every trotted, sticking, non-functional entry door with modern maintenance free alternatives…and more “aging in place” solutions that make homes safer…and more accessible for handicapped clients…and their family members!
