After an incredible career in Tool and Die, we’re excited to celebrate Michael Krause as he begins his retirement journey!

Mike grew up in Lakeview and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1980. After graduation, he worked at Behrenwald Seed Farms before earning his Associate’s Degree in Business Management from MCC in 1987.

In 1989, Mike joined Greenville Tool & Die, beginning what would become a long and memorable career. After spending time at JDS Sawmill and later Wiesen Inc., Mike returned to GTD in 2023, and when asked what his most memorable moment was here, his answer says it all: “It really is the people here!”

Mike and his wife, Darcy, have been married since 1989 and have two daughters, Kaylee and Kara. Outside of work, Mike enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time outdoors, and bowling. As Mike looks ahead to retirement, he’s looking forward to having more time for friends, family, and all the hobbies he enjoys.

Mike, thank you for the years of hard work, dedication, and the memories you’ve made with the GTD family. We’re grateful to have had you as part of our team and wish you nothing but the best in this next chapter!

Safety Spotlight Alert

While training a new Pathfinder, Carter noticed that the tool changer on a mill could potentially catch the clothing or body of someone working nearby if they weren't paying attention.

Carter didn’t ignore it. He immediately brought the concern to his supervisor and Safety Coordinator. After reviewing the situation, the team agreed it was a potential hazard and took action!

We are especially proud of our high school Pathfinders! They are learning valuable skills, gaining hands-on experience, and becoming an important part of our team. Carter’s actions are a great example that safety leadership can come from anyone, no matter your age or experience level.

Thank you, Carter, for staying alert, recognizing a potential hazard, and having the confidence to speak up. Your voice made a difference and helped make Greenville Tool & Die safer for everyone. 👏 Great job

Help us in congratulating Ted Grant on earning his second Journeyman Card in Die Design!

His contributions to our company go far beyond his work in our engineering department however. He also takes the lead in organizing our employee morale events, and it’s clear that he genuinely cares about making these events enjoyable and meaningful for everyone. We appreciate you for all that you do for our GTD community.
