Large hail and damaging winds are possible Thursday afternoon and evening from eastern Montana into South Dakota and Nebraska. Some storms may organize into a larger complex capable of producing widespread strong winds. Meteorologist Matthew Cappucci is tracking the threat from the field.

If supercells are able to evolve ahead of a front, then tornadoes will be possible.

If it's just a frontal squall, mostly straight-line gusts as primary hazard.
