South Hunt County Fire Rescue Proudly Serving The City of Quinlan, Cash Community, and Surrounding Hunt County

South Hunt County Fire Rescue is a 100% volunteer fire department located in South Hunt County Texas. Founded in 1985 as Cash Fire Department, the department provide fire and first response to 10,500 citizens over a 80 square mile area including the City of Quinlan, unincorporated community of Cash and surrounding areas; the department also provides Technical Rescue Services to 25,000 people over 250 square miles and 6 fire departments. This department is a non-profit and runs mainly donations from it citizens it is proud to serve. The men and women of the South Hunt County Fire Rescue look forward to serving you and being there in your time of need.

⚠️ HIGH WINDS EXPECTED — PLEASE AVOID OUTDOOR BURNING! 🔥

South Hunt County Fire Rescue is asking residents in Quinlan and the surrounding areas to postpone all outdoor burning tomorrow, Friday, October 16, due to expected high winds.

💨 High winds can quickly spread flames and carry burning embers into nearby grass, brush, and structures, turning a small fire into a dangerous situation.

Please help us keep our community safe:

* Avoid all outdoor burning.
* Properly dispose of ci******es and other smoking materials.
* Secure anything that could become airborne in strong winds.
* Stay alert to changing weather conditions.

A little prevention can make a big difference. Help us protect our homes, our neighbors, and our firefighters.

🚒 B SHIFT RESPONDS TO STRUCTURE FIRE IN LONE OAK

Around 00:45 last night, B Shift crews with South Hunt County Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire off Lakeview Drive in Lone Oak.

While most of the community was asleep, our volunteers answered the call, ready to serve and protect those who need them. Fire emergencies don’t follow a schedule, and our crews remain committed to responding whenever duty calls.

We are grateful for the dedication of our volunteers who sacrifice their time and rest to serve our community.

Yesterday personnel from South Hunt County Fire Rescue had the opportunity to visit Boles Daycare to help our youngest community members learn that firefighters in full gear are not scary! ❤️‍🚒

For a child, seeing a firefighter covered from head to toe in protective gear, with an air pack and mask on, can be intimidating. That’s why it’s so important for kids to see and understand what that gear looks like before they ever encounter it during an emergency.

Our firefighters took the time to introduce themselves, explain their gear, and show the kids that underneath all that equipment is simply someone there to help them.

We’re proud to help teach, reassure, and build positive relationships with the children in our community. You never know when a simple visit like this could make a huge difference in an emergency.

The Wildland Fire Danger in our community is one of the concerns that remains on the forefront of our planning and preparation efforts. We cannot thank Mystic Springs Renewable Energy enough for their support and investment in our efforts to keep our community safe!

South Hunt County Fire Rescue received a $5,000 grant to replace worn and damaged wildland firefighting equipment.
