I read a post this week that spoke on the topic of success. Our society seems to believe that success equates to continued growth, unending. That things that end are a failure, marriages, businesses, plans. We know that it is only capitalism that feels that way. Everything ends, including the pieces of our life that are wonderful, inspiring, joyful, and soul filling. Humans don’t go on forever, and neither does anything we create. Just like the seasons, there are beginnings and endings.
After 5 years of community, of growth, of learning, of connecting, of creating, I have decided to close our physical Nectar Community space here in Greenville, SC.
I opened this space in 2019, with one goal, to create a space worthy of authentic connection and community. A place where people could come to build their businesses, to connect with other incredible humans, to rest, to create, to grow, to heal. We did that, together as a community.
I opened 6 months before a global pandemic, you, the community helped nourish Nectar even when we couldn’t gather in person. You held her in your hearts and minds. I owe all my gratitude for every person who walked through the door, and helped contribute to an incredibly special sacred space for us all.
For me, this is not a failure, but a great success. I kept this space open for 5 years, and have been so proud of our community at each step. Our name, Nectar, is all about trusting our hearts to seek out nourishment from the sweetest nectar. I wouldn’t be leading by example if I didn’t also continue that in my own life.
For me, I am being called to rest, heal my body from all that I navigated physically last year, as well as spending more time with my teens. Who knew that teenagers need you more than school age kiddos?! It’s an honor to be here to help them navigate this space into adulthood.
Classes and business will run through July 24th, 2024. After that I will be selling furniture and cleaning up the space for the next lucky business to house their business there.
We will be having a special closing celebration, to honor Nectar and all that the space has done for us, in July. More details to come later.
I will still be offering community events around town, Qoya, kayaking, hikes, moon circles, and so much more. I will be changing Nectar’s website a bit, but I will still have a calendar of things we can do together as a community. That’s not going away, just the physical space.
Thank you to every single person who has helped our community thrive and connect over the last 5 years, you are in my heart every day.
If you have any questions, I am happy to answer!
In connection,
Sara
