Intelli-NET of SC

Intelli-NET of SC INTELLI-NET is a Managed IT Services company located in the Upstate of SC. In 2002, the world of technology was radically different than today.

Steve Jobs was still five years away from inventing the iPhone. Computers were running Windows 98, or Windows 2000. Google was only 3 years old. The United States was living through the aftermath of 9/11, and the economy was quickly deteriorating. Amid those uncertain times, INTELLI-NET was started. The Founder and Managing Partner, Derek Davis, spent nearly 20 years in database and application de

velopment, networking, and management before starting INTELLI-NET. In the early ‘90s he helped a Fortune-500 company implement a very early email system and corporation-wide financial system. The way INTELLI-NET serves our clients now has changed dramatically over the years, but our focus has never shifted. Our company brings a Christian-oriented service model to our business clients. The employees here know our foundation, and work to ensure our customers can tell that distinction. We are acutely aware that Greenville is still a “small town” when it comes to your reputation, and we work extremely hard to guard ours. We are proud of our success. We have forged friendships with our clients, and count some of the most influential and well-respected companies as our partners. Our office has recently relocated to the “Stone Wall District” of Greenville. That’s the unique two-block area of Laurens Road near W***y Taco. This doubled the square footage of our office space to accommodate our growth . What is it like to be an INTELLI-NET Client? In a word, “Secure.” We know that each time we work with a customer, they are entrusting their company’s knowledge and assets to us. Our goal is to eliminate our customers’ stress regarding technology. We provide globally recognized solutions to our clients, train them how to be safe and secure, and make sure their networks are protected from data loss resulting from any types of breaches or errors. Our customers are accustomed to that level of service at a fraction of the cost of a traditional IT department, and our services are priced at a flat, affordable fee so there are no surprises at the end of the month. June is Internet Safety Month and here’s the truth most businesses don’t realize:

You don’t need a sophisticated hacker targeting your business to be at risk.

You just need one employee reusing a password.

That’s all it takes to expose your entire network, your data, and your clients.

The scary part? Most businesses have no idea where they’re vulnerable until it’s too late.

The good news: it’s fixable.

A quick security check can uncover the gaps and help you lock things down before they become a problem: https://bit.ly/4cYebAg

School’s out!

Kids are home.
People are in and out of the office.
There are more interruptions throughout the day.

Instead of sitting down and working straight through, you’re handling things in between everything else.

An email comes in.
It looks normal.
You take care of it and move on.

No red flags. No second thought.

But this time of year, that’s often how security issues start.

When routines change and attention is split, it’s easier for the wrong thing to slip through.

👉 We explain what to watch for in our latest blog post: https://bit.ly/430IjGH

AI is powerful, but it still needs boundaries.

More teams are starting to use AI in their day-to-day work.

That’s not a bad thing if it’s used the right way.

But without a few simple guardrails, it’s easy for things to slip:
🚩 Content going out without review
🚩 Sensitive information being shared
🚩 Tools being used without anyone really knowing

It doesn’t take much to avoid it:
Decide which AI tools are approved in your company
Make sure anything client-facing gets reviewed
Be clear about what should never be entered

AI can save time...but it still needs structure.

👉 A few simple rules now can prevent bigger issues later.

Quick tech tip: use a password manager.

If you’re still reusing passwords, it’s one of the easiest ways for your accounts to get compromised.

A password manager fixes that.

It creates strong, unique passwords for every account and stores them securely so you don’t have to remember them.

No more:

❌ “Password123”
❌ Sticky notes
❌ Reusing the same login everywhere

If you’re not using a password manager yet, here are a few good options:

- 1Password
- Bitwarden
- Dashlane

👉 It’s a simple change that can make a big difference.

As your business grows, things naturally get busier.

•More work.
•More moving parts.
•More to keep up with.

That’s normal.

What’s not normal is when your systems start making it harder.

Things taking longer than they should.
Small issues happening more often.
Your team working around problems instead of moving forward.

Growth comes with pressure…but your IT shouldn’t be part of it.

You leave for the weekend, but your business doesn’t.

And neither do the people trying to break into it.

The risk doesn’t stop after hours, but it does grow.

👉 Here’s what most businesses miss when going into long weekends:

IT should just work.

You shouldn’t have to:
Restart things constantly
Wait for systems to load
Deal with the same issue twice

But for many businesses, that’s normal.

It doesn’t have to be.

If this sounds familiar, it may be time to rethink your IT.

Ever notice you look at something once online and then it seems to follow you everywhere?

Same product. Same ad. Over and over.

That’s not random.

Websites use cookies to track what you click and share that data with advertisers.

👉 Quick fix: Clear your cookies and block third-party tracking so you’re not being followed around on the internet.

Imagine hiring an intern and giving them access to your emails, client data and internal documents …

And never checking their work.

That’s how most businesses are using AI right now.

It’s fast. Helpful. Impressive.

It can also:
Share data you didn’t mean to share
Use tools you didn’t approve
Create answers that sound right, but aren’t

👉 Here’s how you can responsibly supervise your “AI intern”: https://bit.ly/4t60c1d

Your email might be hiding messages from you.

If someone gets access to your email, they don’t always lock you out.

Sometimes they create inbox rules that automatically:
Move emails
Mark them as read
Forward them somewhere else

So, things like invoices or password resets never show up.

👉 Quick Fix:
Go to your email Settings → Rules (or Filters)
Look for anything you didn’t create
Delete suspicious rules
Change your password and turn on multi-factor authentication
