Twenty-three years into her engineering career, Robin Allen still approaches every project as an opportunity to learn something new. 💡

As a water/wastewater project manager with Merrick's infrastructure team, Robin supports the design of potable water and wastewater systems and provides construction management services for public works projects.

Whether she's developing an alternative design, learning from teammates, or seeing a new construction method put into practice in the field, every project offers a chance to gain a new perspective.

That's one of the reasons Robin was drawn to Merrick. After spending much of her career as a generalist, she's looking forward to working alongside specialists with different areas of expertise and finding new ways to grow in water and wastewater design.

We had a wonderful time at the 36th Annual Tampa Bay Transportation Supersession! Our team left informed and inspired by the conversations and ideas shared by our colleagues and speakers who are helping drive transportation initiatives forward in Florida.

As Florida's transportation needs continue to evolve, Merrick will be there right alongside them, investing in the people, expertise, and resources needed to support that progress. We'll see you all next year!

Join us in welcoming Unisha Ghimire, Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician on Merrick's geomatics team! 🌎

With a passion for water resources and GIS, Unisha's journey as an intern with the Mile High Flood District to Merrick was driven by a desire to combine both interests in her day-to-day work.

Today, she's supporting the USGS Elevation-Derived Hydrography (EDH) project, where she's developing hydrographic features and exploring ways to improve and automate GIS workflows. Her favorite part of the work is finding new ways to make processes more efficient and consistent.

Looking ahead, Unisha is eager to grow her technical expertise and work with Merrick's water resources and infrastructure teams, where her interests in water, GIS, and infrastructure can all come together. Welcome, Unisha!

In 2015, senior project manager James Doak traveled to Guam to explore an opportunity with a construction partner.

He wasn’t visiting an active project site.

He was exploring whether Merrick could build the relationships and trust needed in supporting the facilities and infrastructure serving the US military mission in the Indo-Pacific.

What followed was nearly a decade of relationship building, collaboration, and design-build project delivery, culminating in the J-755 Urban Combat Training Facility project at Andersen Air Force Base in support of military training and readiness.

Today, as one of Merrick’s leaders in design-build projects, James regularly returns to Guam to strengthen relationships with our clients and partners, continuing the collaborative approach that has guided Merrick’s work there from the very beginning.

An up-close look at the technology powering the future of airborne mapping! ✈️

Teledyne Optech's dual Galaxy Edge+ G2 lidar sensor suite and upgraded aerial imaging capabilities are now part of Merrick's airborne mapping operations. The enhanced platform expands our ability to support transmission line mapping, transmission line routing, and large-area elevation mapping programs. It allows us to collect data more efficiently and provides flexibility to tailor data acquisition strategies to specific project requirements.

This investment reflects the strength of Merrick's 15-year relationship with Teledyne and our shared commitment to advancing geospatial data collection technologies.
