Within a few weeks I will have a new website. I am still keeping my practice name however I have just registered a DBA under Four Legged Massage And Dog Training. This is to help more people with dogs who need help finding someone who can help them. I will still be offering massage therapy services to aging pets who need help. Pets deserve someone who can be their corner and speak their language and I am looking forward to more growth.

Here Nutmeg beautifully demonstrates a pattern game of going on and off surfaces then practices recall with the here command. This technique is great for providing exercise and predictability and greatly improves handler engagement. .

This is a video of myself and my beloved friend Lady. I work mainly in animal rehabilitation helping fearful dogs have a better life by showing them they can be safe in a moving world as well as providing massage therapy to elderly dogs and horses and pets who have experienced trauma. We can learn a lot if we slow down and learn to listen to nature. Horses are prey animals and Lady is sensitive by nature which is why I allow her to come to me. I find this approach also helps dogs who struggle with anxiety and aggression. Slow is fast and fast is slow. Rehabilitation is seldom like what you see on u tube or on line and it is not a spectator sport. Taking care and holding space for someone who is struggling is an honor helping someone feel safe in a moving world is an art. Be a rock in a moving world.

Something has been on my heart and mind.

We are living in a time where many animals are facing difficult circumstances. Economic challenges, rising costs of care, and changing situations can put incredible pressure on animal owners and the animals who depend on them.

Horses, in particular, can face heartbreaking outcomes when they are no longer able to be cared for, when their purpose changes, or when circumstances leave them vulnerable.

I often think about Phillipe’s story and how differently his life could have turned out.

Ten years ago, Phillipe was in the slaughter pipeline. The first photos in this post are of Phillipe at auction. He arrived covered in dirt and rain, severely underweight, and facing an uncertain future. These images are difficult to look at, but I believe his story deserves to be told—not to focus on suffering, but to honor the journey that followed.

I have never believed in sharing an animal’s hardship simply for content alone. When we share difficult moments, it should be with purpose: to educate, to create compassion, and to remind people that there is a life and a story behind every individual.

Today, Phillipe is happy, healthy, and he is part of my family.

His story reminds me that an animal’s value is so much greater than what they can do for us. A horse is not only valuable because they can be ridden, compete, or perform. They are individuals with their own personalities, experiences, and a life worth protecting.

My hope is that by sharing stories like Phillipe’s, we can inspire more compassion, encourage responsible care, and create a greater appreciation for the animals and the world we share together. I created this piece and I wrote the lyrics to this song to honor his journey and raise awareness. The later photos is how Phillipe looks today. Healthy and thriving.

Every animal has a story. This is his.

This is an oldie but a goodie. What do you think do palaminos have more fun? This is a photo of my horse Phillipe who we call "P" up to his usual shenanigans taken years ago. Somethings never change.
