WHY WOULD A SPIRIT STAY?

If a spirit is present in a home, one of the first questions we ask is:

Why are they still here?

In our work, we’ve encountered spirits who seemed connected to a home for many different reasons.

Some appeared deeply attached to the people or place. Others seemed confused about what had happened to them. Some were connected to a sudden or traumatic death, while others appeared reluctant to leave something—or someone—behind.

And occasionally, we encounter a spirit who simply seems to believe:

“This is still my home.”

We don't approach these situations as a battle.

We try to understand who is there, why they may be staying, and what they need in order to move on peacefully.

Because sometimes the story behind a haunting isn't frightening.

It's human.

GHOST — OR ENERGY IMPRINT?

You walk into a room and something feels different.

Maybe one particular chair feels uncomfortable. Perhaps you repeatedly sense someone standing in the same place. Or there’s an area of the room you simply don’t want to spend time in.

Does that mean there’s a ghost?

Not necessarily.

Sometimes what people experience may be an energy imprint or etheric pattern—a residual pattern associated with people, emotions or events that were once part of the home.

Unlike a spirit, an imprint may feel more like a recording that keeps repeating rather than an active presence.

That distinction matters.

When we assess a home, we don’t begin by assuming it’s haunted. We investigate what we’re actually finding before deciding how—or whether—it needs to be cleared.

Children grow up in them.
Families celebrate, argue, struggle and grieve in them.
People leave—and someone new begins another chapter.

Most of those experiences simply become part of a home's history.

But sometimes, something seems to linger.
