Today at 12:17 PM in Gretna Fire department was dispatched to a residential structure fire near the sawdust area on Edwards Road. Gretna engine two was first on scene and reported light smoke showing an active fire near the rear of the structure. Along with the Quincy Fire department and aggressive interior attack resulted in keeping the fire near the area of origin and preserving the rest of the home and its contents. This was a great combined effort between Gretna fire department, Quincy Fire department, and the Sycamore fire department.
