At 6:41pm our Deputy Fire Chief pulled up on a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 10 Eastbound just west of Exit 174. The crash involved a single vehicle towing a trailer. The driver indicated that while traveling a semi truck passed him causing the trailer to sway uncontrollably until the vehicle spun and the trailer overturned.

The occupant was not injured. This was a joint response with the City of Gretna Fire Rescue.

This morning Gretna Fire Rescue Department and Mt. Pleasant, FL Volunteer Fire Department participated in the annual Blue Mass hosted by St. Paul's Episcopal Church - Quincy, FL and The Revrend Cannon Mother Tanya Scheff. Each year the Blue Mass is held to honor and in support of our First Responders.

Remarks were shared by Section Chief Willie Saulsberry of Florida’s State Fire Marshall's Office. Our very own Fire Chief Rev. Dr. Joseph Parramore delivered an inspiring message: "Standing In The Gap".

A huge heartfelt gratitude to the family of St. Pauls for being on the forefront of never forgetting those who stand in the gap and fill the breach for community.

Today at 1344 hours, City of Gretna , Gretna Fire Rescue Department along with Mt. Pleasant, FL Volunteer Fire Department, Midway Fire And Rescue Service and City of Chattahoochee Fire Department and Greensboro Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to I-10 MM 167.5 to a vehicle crash. Upon arrival personnel found a single vehicle had left the road made contact with a large tree in the tree line. Vehicle then became fully engulfed.

Two trauma patients were extricated from the vehicle and patient was turned over to Gadsden County Emergency Services. Other partner on scene included Gadsden County Sheriff's Office - Morris A. Young, Sheriff and the Florida Highway Patrol.

A phenomenal job of on scene coordination by all personnel. Absolutely a great job. Prayers for those involved in this incident.

It's been a busy evening for Gretna Fire Rescue Department. At 2007 we were dispatched to I-10 MM 171 for a motor vehicle crash involving two passenger vehicles and 18 wheeler. A passenger truck overturned with an ejection. No other injuries reported. Mutual aid was provided by Midway Fire And Rescue Service and Greensboro VFD. Additional Resources were Gadsden County Emergency Services and Survival Flight. Great team work by all.

As we were clearing that scene, we were dispatched for another landing-zone for Air Methods.
