MYA was proud to have a crew of current and former team members helping out at the Iowa Grocery Industry Association (IGIA) annual Best Bagger Contest at the Iowa State Fair!

Some of Iowa’s best grocery baggers went head-to-head, putting their speed, accuracy and bagging skills to the test. Congratulations to all of this year’s competitors and to Kyle Bitterman of Hy-Vee Davenport, who took home the top spot!

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our co-founder, Phillip (Phil) Yurgae.

In 1975, Phil, along with Fred Mueller, founded Mueller Yurgae Associates with a vision built on relationships, integrity, and service. Over the next five decades, Phil helped grow MYA into the company it is today, touching the lives of countless employees, clients, customers, and industry partners along the way.

Phil was more than a founder. He was a mentor, leader, and friend. He genuinely cared about helping others succeed and took tremendous pride in the people he worked alongside throughout his career. His leadership, dedication, and commitment left a lasting impact on our company and throughout the industry.

In recognition of his many contributions, Phil was honored with the Iowa Grocery Industry Association (IGIA) Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. The MYA team had an incredible time connecting with valued partners, exploring the latest innovations in confection and snack, and discussing what’s next across the industry.
