This illuminated monument sign at Musco Lighting headquarters took careful coordination with architects, electricians, and general contractors. The design called for a cast-in-place concrete process. With one chance to get it right, every electrical pe*******on for the illumination needed to be identified and placed with surgical precision prior to the pour. The graphics show a tiny snapshot of the plans the team created to guide the way to success.

How do you choose what type of illumination your exterior channel letter signage should have? We're here to help.

Go bold with polycarbonate or acrylic faces. While most vinyl overlays allow less than 1% light transmission, dual film gives you vibrant colors by day and a sharp white glow at night.

2️⃣ Back or "halo" illuminated
This method gives a sophisticated look, ideal for direct mounting. It showcases unique shapes beautifully, and shiny surfaces can enhance reflection even more.

3️⃣ Combination

Instead of allowing steel to oxidize naturally over time, faux-corten uses a controlled coating process to replicate the look of weathered corten steel, then seals it permanently. PSA: A lot of thought goes into the small, functional signage around your office.

When Musco Lighting renovated their headquarters, they were looking for subtle but powerful ways to honor their team’s longevity and commitment. Custom, magnetic workstation signs were designed to hold anniversary medallions, allowing employees to proudly display their milestones and easily swap them out each year.

From there, we used the original nameplate designs to build out an entire signage family that brings cohesion to the refreshed Musco Lighting facilities.
