Do you know what makes our Jetlag Relief Pale Ale so unique?

It was brewed specifically to be enjoyed at altitude on airways.

When traveling at 30,000 ft, low cabin pressure and dry air dull our sense of taste and smell causing sweet flavors to be less perceptible while leaving bitter and umami flavor perception unchanged.

The change in altitude transforms Jetlag Relief from a smooth, fruit forward beer with low bitterness in the bar or at home to a well balanced, hoppy/perfectly bitter IPA in the sky.

This is also why some beers you enjoy at home aren’t as pleasant on a plane.

What a Year for Side Hustle Brews & Spirits!

2024 was nothing short of amazing, and we’re incredibly proud of the strides we made toward our mission of helping the UAE “drink better.”

Here’s what we accomplished together:

🍺 Crafting History:
We partnered with CRAFT to launch the UAE’s first brewery and won multiple awards. At CRAFT by Side Hustle, we shattered our goal of 75 unique brews with 69 draft beers and 30+ cask ales released this year.

🥃 Expanding Spirits:
We introduced 6 new Side Hustle American whiskies and a brand-new gin, plus imported a dozen more craft whiskies from award winning producers all available at The Bottle Store Abu Dhabi.

🌍 Global Brewing:
We brewed and exported nearly 1,000 barrels of beverages, including favorites like:
• Jetlag Relief Pale Ale
• El Jefe Mexican Lager
• Pit Crew IPA
• Two refreshing hard seltzers (Mango Passionfruit and Elderflower Blackberry).

🇺🇸 Stateside Success:
In Pennsylvania, we brewed and distributed 7 unique beverages, including Reality Czech Pilsner and Jam Session IPA.

🇨🇿 Epic Education
We joined an epic Beer Mission to the Czech Republic, where we learned the history and process of Pilsner and the water & hops that make it so special.

🏛️ A New Chapter:
We signed the lease and started construction on our first U.S.-based distillery pub, The Exchange, inside the historic Oil City National Bank Building.

🌾 Farm-to-Glass Beginnings:
We harvested heirloom corn (Jimmy Red, Tri Color Wapsi, Bloody Butcher) and rye, laying the foundation for our own house-made bourbon and rye whiskey.

🎯 Looking Ahead to 2025:
The next year is shaping up to be even more exciting! As we take a few days to regroup, you can bet we’ll be ready to Hustle harder than ever to bring you even more amazing beers, spirits, and experiences.

Distilling life ain’t easy… but it sure does sharpen your problem solving skills.

Here the team is moving the pot from our 750gal Vendome still into our new building in Grove City PA.

I think we’ll name it Boudreaux… in honor of South Louisiana, where it was originally in service.

🚨🚨New Beer Alert 🚨 🚨

(OG) Sandstorm Double Dry Hopped Double IPA. To celebrate the opening of CRAFT by Side Hustle, we brought back our original Sandstorm recipe — the beer that started our journey.

Sandstorm is full bodied and full of flavor. Going back to our original recipe, Sandstorm is packed with Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe hops… then dry hopped twice with Mosaic and Citra hops then, because you can’t have too much aroma, we add a bit Mosaic Spectrum and Citra terpenes… Expect loads of mango, peach and stone fruit on a slightly sweet base.

Be careful, Sandstorm drinks a lot lighter than it’s 7.2% ABV implies.

Now on to the Side Hustle Spirits team.

Colton Weinstein is a long time distiller with over 15 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry. He is the former Head Distiller at Corsair Distillery and Board member of the American Craft Spirits Association.

Along with being the master distiller for the Side Hustle he is Co-founder and CEO of Liba Spirits, a nomadic spirits company which produces spirits from around the globe. Libra has a few spirits available including Alpine Gin and Mid City Botanical Rum. Colton has worked as a consultant for a number of distilleries around the world including projects in the US, Australia, Japan, and Colombia.

Favorite Beer :
At the end of a long day in the distillery spent tasting spirits and blending barrels of whiskey I always shoot for something light and easy drinking. When I can get it I grab the Czech Mate Lager from Side Hustle, but since I am not always in their part of the world it more often than not ends up being a Pilsner Urquell.

Most memorable moments since starting Side Hustle:
A few years ago Side Hustle purchased the equipment from a distillery that had run into hard times and was going out of business. The task was to completely dismantle the entire facility so we could get the pieces ready for shipping to our global headquarters. Over the years I’ve set up and installed a lot of distilleries, but that was the first time I ever had to take one apart.

What has been your proudest moment since you started Side Hustle?
Watching that first shipment of spirits go out for export (from the US).

2. Seeding Clouds Golden Ale - light, malt forward with a nice bitter finish. If a meat platter is on the agenda, this is the beer for you.

3. Long Journey Pale Ale - This one is special for the team… we asked to create a beer to introduce himself to Abu Dhabi and he chose a classic American Pale Ale. Long Journey is well balanced with notes of pine and citrus. Having a beer and a burger? Make this that beer.
