3:00 PM March 5th – Red Flag Warning has been issued for Saturday afternoon as dry and wind conditions may contribute to rapid fire growth across the Nebraska Panhandle. Southwest winds 15 to 20 MPH are expected with gusts up to 30 MPH and relative humidity dropping to around 15 percent with the above average warmth for early March. February 8th Morning Update: A cold start to potentially very cold week today with highs struggling to reach the low to middle teens across the eastern plains. Arctic cold front will remain nearly stationary along the Interstate 25 corridor today, before drifting west towards the Laramie Range late this afternoon or this evening. Occasional snow flurries throughout the day across the eastern plains, but little if any snow accumulations are expected. High Wind Warnings remain in effect for the wind prone areas along Interstate 80 today where gusts up to 65 mph will continue.

A High Wind Warning continues through 5 PM today for much of southeast Wyoming, and for the Southern Laramie Range and foothills through 9 AM Friday. High Wind Warnings continue for the Nebraska Panhandle until 11 AM Friday. Expect northwest winds of 30 to 45 mph with gusts of 60 to 70 mph.
