The 2025 Leadership Guymon class chose to install a water bottle/water fountain at the park. This project was made possible by generous donors!

Congratulations to the Leadership Guymon Class of 2025!! 👏🏼

Tonight, this amazing group of leaders were celebrated for their hard work and dedication over the last nine months being a part of the Leadership Guymon Program. Some key points taken away from this evening were:

⏩ Community is not just through my own lenses.

⏩️ It’s not about where you live, it’s about how you show up.

⏩ When asked why I was moving out to the Oklahoma Panhandle, I had a handful of reasons why. The Leadership Guymom program has broadened my why.

Leadership Guymon has made their arrival to Oklahoma City for the State Government session. They had dinner with Senator Casey Murdock and Representative Kenton Patzkowsky, along with Guymon’s Mayor, Kim Peterson, and OPSU Vice President of Advancement, Dr Ryan Blanton. They have a busy day at the Capitol tomorrow!

Leadership Guymon County Government Session Recap!

Our Leadership Guymon class dove into the heart of local government during their County Government session! 🌟

From exploring the halls of the Texas County Courthouse to gaining insights at the DA Task Force Building, the group saw firsthand the dedication it takes to keep our community running smoothly. They also visited:

🏛️ Texas County Detention Center – Learning about justice and corrections
📋 County Election Board – Understanding how elections are organized and secure
🌱 Extension Office – Connecting with agricultural and community resources
📞 Dispatch – Witnessing the front line of emergency response

This immersive experience provided a deeper appreciation for the incredible people and processes behind our county's operations. 💪

Miriam Huizar is the Utility Clerk for the City of Guymon, where she has been serving for the past two years. Having lived in Guymon for 11 years, Miriam is excited to deepen her connection with the community through Leadership Guymon.

“I’d like to learn more about Guymon, meet new people, and hopefully get out of my comfort zone."

When she’s not helping the community at the utility office, Miriam enjoys walking around town on nice days and practicing her semi-gardening skills.

Danny Mendoza is the Manager at Regency Auto Center, where he has worked for the past three years. A lifelong Guymon resident of 22 years, Danny is passionate about his community and always eager to be involved.

“I have lived in Guymon my whole life, and I have always loved being involved in the community. I find that Leadership Guymon is a great way to learn more about the community and network,” Danny shared.

When he’s not managing Regency Auto Center, Danny enjoys selling cars, sheds, and shops, tinting vehicles on the side, and driving his truck to haul livestock, cars, or flatbeds.

Meet Mallory Bischoff, an Accountant at Denise H. Lunt, CPA, where she’s worked for the past three years. While Mallory resides in Beaver, she spends her workdays in Guymon and is excited to grow through the Leadership Guymon program.
“By attending this program, I hope to improve in personal growth, networking opportunities, exposure to diverse perspectives, career development, and enhanced teamwork,” stated Mallory.

Mallory is deeply involved in her community, serving as the marketing coordinator for Beaver Rotary, a member of the Beaver Chamber of Commerce, P.E.O., and the Treasurer for the Pioneer Park Golf Club. She holds two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s in accounting and management from Fort Hays State University.
In her free time, Mallory enjoys golfing, running, and traveling.
