LET’S TALK HOME CARE 🏠❤️
Since starting my home care company, I’ve noticed something: a lot of families aren’t necessarily looking for an agency—they’re looking for an individual caregiver.
And honestly, there are pros and cons to both. I’m not here to tell anyone which option to choose. I just believe families should understand the difference before making a decision.
👤 Hiring a Private Caregiver ✅ May be more affordable
✅ Can feel more personal
✅ You may have more flexibility
⚠️ But ask yourself: What happens if that caregiver gets sick, has an emergency, needs time off, or suddenly can’t come? Who steps in? Are they insured? Who handles payroll, taxes, background checks, and other responsibilities?
🏢 Using a Home Care Agency ✅ Caregivers are typically screened and hired through the agency
✅ The agency carries business insurance
✅ There may be backup coverage when your regular caregiver is unavailable
✅ The agency handles payroll and employment responsibilities
✅ You have someone to contact when an issue comes up
Of course, agencies have their own costs and policies, so it’s important to compare everything.
My point is simple: DON’T JUST LOOK AT THE HOURLY RATE.
Look at the pros and cons, your loved one’s needs, reliability, safety, backup coverage, and what happens when something unexpected occurs.
Do your research. Ask questions. Compare your options.
At the end of the day, you want to make sure your loved one is safe, cared for, and supported—even when life happens. ❤️
