LinkedIn recently started flagging posts as “AI slop.”
Not a human reviewer. The algorithm.
If enough people report your post, you now get private feedback in your analytics telling you this.
Here is what no one is saying about it.
It is not punishing AI. It is punishing the account that this content sits on.
I spent years on sales floors watching what made someone stop walking and actually look at something.
It was never the display that looked like every other display in the window or on the sales floor.
It was the one with something specific in it.
A real detail.
Something that made you feel like a person put it there.
𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝𝐈𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲.
A post that could have been written by anyone in your industry with a 30-second prompt?
LinkedIn is now throttling it.
Not because it used AI.
Because it said nothing.
The fix is not to stop using AI.
The fix is to start with a sentence or a thought only you could write.
One specific client outcome. One moment from a call last week. One number from your own experience.
That sentence is what makes the rest of it land.
Read your last three posts out loud. If any of them could have been written by a stranger who googled your job title, start there.
