Day = made! We went 3-for-4 on grant opportunities with this client (a county health department), totaling $604,259. Grants can be a heavy lift but texts like this make it all worthwhile.

(And yes, this is how I correspond with clients. I’m not for the weak or uptight 😂)

Excited to be a presenter at Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Main Street Maryland conference! Attending these things is a little like drinking from a fire hose, so I always like to provide worksheets for folks to re-visit content later and make a plan based on their needs. The DHCD crew has done an exceptional job putting this event together for more than 400 attendees!

“I’m not sure what a ‘trademark’ is, but my mom keeps telling me it’s her way to immortalize me forever. I’m just trying to take a nap, here…” - Ruby

Black Dog Philanthropic started as a consulting firm, but over the last 4.5 years, it has become something so much bigger. Securing the trademark gives us the ability to grow the Black Dog brand with intentionality.

Stay tuned for what comes next!

So proud to support Special Olympics Maryland through the Black Dog Philanthropic Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), and honored the team asked me to share a few words on the benefits of DAFs! One of the biggest misconceptions about DAFs is that you have to be in a certain tax bracket… and as someone who works with nonprofits, I can promise you I am NOT in that tax bracket! Always happy to share more on all things philanthropy-related.

It was a BEAUTIFUL morning to welcome more than 400 Poolesville Day 5K participants! Black Dog Philanthropic is proud to sponsor this wonderful event every year… and this year, I was on intersection volunteer duty, which means I got to cheer on all of the runners and walkers! Love my community!

Anne Arundel County folks, we want to hear from you!

For years, Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County has shown up here, funding local needs, hosting conversations and celebrating the people who give back.

Now it's your turn to shape what comes next. The survey takes about seven minutes, you can skip any question, and your responses stay confidential. It's administered by Black Dog Philanthropic.

Take the survey at https://forms.gle/RgNzHd7HGh1Hd3uAA.

We're getting close! Love this team. The National Museum of Civil War Medicine is truly a gem worth visiting in The City of Frederick.

Construction to update and improve the National Museum of Civil War Medicine has begun.

Being kind to flight attendants isn’t just the right thing to do… sometimes it gets you a VIP upgrade to your own row on a cross-country flight! ’s remote office set-up remains undefeated.

I love the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County team and can't wait for this important project to begin in earnest. Look for the helpers!
