Not exactly what you’d expect to hear from the president of a label company.

In EP 36 of 🎙️, Thomas reflects on the transition from running operations to leading the entire company, and the responsibility that comes with having “100 belly buttons” depending on you.

Because at the end of the day, running a business isn’t just about spreadsheets, production numbers, or the bottom line. It’s about people. And when you know those people personally, their challenges become yours, too.

As Thomas puts it, being cold-hearted might make the job easier. But that’s just not how he’s wired.

Every label that leaves our building is the result of a team working together, and we’re proud of the people behind it all.

We come to you from the desk of the man himself for EP 34 and a slightly sleepier edition of 🎙️

Thomas made it back from a long week at LOUPE (Label Expo)… but we may have scheduled this filming session a little too soon. 😴

We get into something we’ve been seeing more often: just because someone has a nice digital press doesn’t mean the color coming off of it is consistent. When the same brand starts showing up in noticeably different shades from SKU to SKU or run to run, that can become a much bigger conversation than anyone expected.

And since Thomas had just gotten back from LOUPE, we also had to ask what caught his attention on the show floor. Despite being specifically told not to go look at laser die cutting… he went and looked at laser die cutting. Of course he did.

“Buy once, cry once.”

Does that apply to labels too? Thomas says yes.

In EP33 of 🎙️, we get into what actually goes into delivering consistent label quality. Producing a good label is one thing. Producing it consistently, order after order, takes the right equipment, inspection systems, color controls, materials, and people behind the process.

And sometimes, the cheapest option isn’t always the simplest one in the long run.
