A growing scam called ClickFix is tricking users with fake CAPTCHA checks and bogus update messages. Instead of checking a box, the site secretly copies a command to your clipboard and tells you to paste it into Windows Run or PowerShell. If you hit Enter, you may install malware directly onto your device.

👉 No real website will ever ask you to copy and paste a command into Windows Run or PowerShell to verify you're human.

Real CAPTCHAs:
✅ Check a box
✅ Ask you to identify images
✅ Have you solve a simple puzzle

They do NOT:
❌ Open Windows Run
❌ Launch PowerShell
❌ Ask you to paste commands

🚨 Think changing your password stops a hacker? Think again. 🤔

When cybercriminals gain access to an email account, they often create a hidden forwarding rule that automatically sends copies of important emails to themselves. That means they could continue monitoring invoices, payments, and banking conversations even after you've changed your password.

Here's a quick security check:
✅ Open Outlook on the web
✅ Click Settings → Mail
✅ Check both Rules and Forwarding
✅ Delete anything you don't recognize

Business owners and IT teams should also:
✔ Block automatic forwarding to external email addresses
✔ Set alerts whenever new forwarding rules are created

⚠️ Your cyber insurance might not pay out, and you'd only find that out after an attack. 💥🙁

Insurers have spent the last few years tightening what they require. The application you sign is basically a security audit, and if you claim to have controls you don't have, the insurer can reduce your payout or deny the claim when something happens.

Most policies now expect:
✅ MFA on email, remote access, and every admin account. Missing or misconfigured MFA is one of the most common reasons claims get disputed.
✅ Real endpoint detection (EDR) on every machine, not just basic antivirus.
✅ Backups that are offline or immutable, and tested.
✅ Security awareness training you can show records for.

The day you file a claim is the worst possible time to learn you aren't covered. Pull your policy this week and read the conditions section. If it lists controls you're not sure you have, TeleCom Business Solutions can help close that gap now, before you ever need to file.

A ransomware group called INC has claimed more than 800 victims since 2023, and how it operates should change the way you handle your backups.
Before INC locks up your files, it searches your network for the login to your backup system. Your backups are how you recover without paying, so INC deletes them first.

To protect yourself against potential attacks, do this:
▶️ Keep at least one backup copy offline or immutable, so an attacker inside your network can't reach it.
▶️ Give your backup system its own separate login. If it shares a password with your everyday admin account, one stolen password loses both.
▶️ Test a restore this month. If you've never restored from your backups, you don't really know they work.

INC is one of many ransomware groups that now target backups first, so protect them with intention.
