Why are consultants often viewed negatively?
I once had a potential client tell me that “Consultants are like Seagulls!”
“They Fly in, eat our food, Dump on us, and then Fly away!”
After convincing him that I was different, he gave me a try, and we were successful together!
Why?
My approach starts with listening. Not a 50-page consulting report — real listening. I learn the business from the floor up, find the 20% of issues causing 80% of the pain, and build an action plan the team can own and sustain. When I leave, the business runs better than when I started — and the improvements stick because the people who do the work every day helped build them.
That’s what success is!
