Hamburg Vol. Forest Fire Crew Responding to wildland fires in Berks & surrounding counties since 1949

Established: 1949 by Hamburg, PA residents Preston & Anna Derck in response to a number of large forest fires that occurred on the Blue Mountains north of the town; incorporated as a 501(c) nonprofit organization in 1981

Coverage: the Berks County portion of William Penn State Forest (DCNR FD17), and surrounding areas

Crew: (All Volunteer) State Fire Warden, Assistant Warden, and fifteen members

Here's wishing everyone a fun, relaxing weekend! We hope we only need to see you during a picnic (and not due to a wildfire). Stay safe everyone.

Labor Day weekend is no time to let your guard down.

If you're camping, towing, or spending time outdoors, check local fire restrictions, secure your trailer chains, and make sure every campfire is completely out before you leave.

Help prevent wildfires this weekend and enjoy the last hurrah of summer!

HVFFC will be sponsoring a Wilderness First Aid class, including CPR and AED training, in October. The course will include three consecutive Sundays starting at 9am. Please contact Dean for more information and to RSVP! RSVPs are required as space is limited.
