DEFINING MOMENTS: Episode 19. “I had a moment where I realized, I'm putting my 'all-in' into a place where I don't know if I'm going to realize the vision I have for myself in life”. This powerful nugget, just one of several shared by my next guest, Devona E. G. Williams, Ph.D.. As Presdent/CEO of Goeins-Williams Associates – she is an expert in strategic planning, organizational performance assessment and development, focus groups, and meeting retreat facilitation. She has helped nearly 60,000 individuals in hundreds of organizations across all industries increase their performance and effectiveness.

Another Defining Moment Dr. Williams shared was when her mother passed away. She was pursuing a doctorate and working in a demanding corporate role. She said, “it felt like an upheaval. Life and work is hard enough but when you have to navigate it heart-broken, it can throw you.” She got through it and in hindsight she knew that “if I could overcome that devastating loss and manage everything, I could do anything.” With that understanding, she had the courage to leave corporate America and start her own business full-time.
