Christian Beach is a longtime fixture of the New Jersey music scene who fronted industrial (Slave of Id, Artists That Kill) and alternative rock (Ton of Bricks) bands from the early 1990s into the early 2000s. An update on this...after legislators told her freelancers would not be affected by this bill, the writer of the op-ed below was told by transcription service Rev that it is no longer taking applications from New Jersey freelancers...so this legislation is ALREADY harming freelancers. It’s a bad bill, as written, and needs to be stopped and reworked...

Jennifer Mille, a freelance writer from Audubon, figures she would lose about half of her annual income if NJ enacts its employee misclassification bill.
