Got better pictures of my back bumper over the weekend, and got the rest of the pieces cut, just have to put the puzzle together and weld it up!

Bought my 4runner after the previous owner hit the wall on the highway. I did countless hours of research on the best family friendly daily driver expedition truck, and everything said I needed a 4runner, preferably the newer off road, or TRD Pro, but after looking at those prices, I knew that wouldn't be happening for another 20 years. The next best thing was a 3rd gen, because of the select-able 4wd, and factory rear e-locker.
I looked and looked, and they were all about $3k for decent condition. That's a lot of money to spend on a Toyota when you're a Mopar man, and know what kind of Ramcharger you could buy with that money. So to test the waters, I found this one totaled, and for the price, I couldn't say no. I'm in love. Now I'm working on saving up for a really really nice 99 4runner SR5, because I absolutely love my truck, other than the cup holders, which they changed in '99, and also made the rear storage compartment larger. I love my Toyota! (I will end up with a Ramcharger one day, and it'll be my monster truck)
These are before I did anything to it. Really wish I'd have taken better pictures of the damage.

Sorry about the lack of updates, things have been rough with winter not wanting to leave us, and then shortly after that my best friend and his wife were on their bike, when a car ran a stop sign, and they t-boned him at about 60ish. It's been over a month, and they're still in the hospital. They were in horrible shape, and are now in really bad shape, but there are a lot of good signs finally. So between running their kids around, making sure their house is ok, and visiting them in the hospital, free time has been a couple hours here and there. I started a rear bumper on my truck before winter came back, and finally have enough done that it's worthy of posting! So without further ado, here's most of what I have done so far. I added a couple more pieces since I took pictures, so I'll try to upload those later today, or possibly tomorrow.

Have been working on a few things lately, finally have enough to be worth posting! Been really busy the last month, my best friend and his wife were taken out on their bike, and were in horrible shape, but things have been looking up. So that's occupied most of my time recently. But the weather's nice, and I have at least a couple bumpers lined up right now. I'm building a rear bumper for my 4runner, which will end up with a tire carrier, with jerry cans on each side, and a rear bumper for a 98ish Chevy 1 ton.
Here you'll see most of the progress on my back bumper, and I found pictures of my truck when I first looked at it, after it was smashed into the wall, before I did any repairs.
I'm going to organize and repost everything from my computer, needed to upload them from my phone first.

Out with the old, in with the new. At least that's what the wife said when I brought home my new welder. The old 125 would take multiple passes to weld the 3/16 plate I picked up, so I went and picked up this 220v upgrade. So if you, or anybody you know is interested in a good all around welder, (or has a place for me to sleep), let me know!

Picked up a 10" Woodward Fab throatless shear yesterday, along with enough 3/16 steel to build 3-4 bumpers! Had the shear clamped to my work bench, but I couldn't get any real power on it with the bar nearly as high as I could reach. So I picked up a hammer drill/impact driver combo, a cement drill bit, and anchors and it's bolted to the floor in my shed. Experimenting begins! Much more to come! Rear bumper for my 4runner, front bumper on a f150, and mods to the shear so my scrawny ass can cut with it more easily.

New toys! More to come! Picked up a Woodward Fab 10" throatless shear, experimenting is beginning! And I picked up enough 3/16 steel to build 3-4 bumpers, doing a rear on my 4runner, and have plans to build one on a 2000ish f150, and talking with a few other prospective builds. Should have much more frequent updates now!

Couple years ago I turned a rather simple racing chair into much more of a racing simulator. It came with a generic steering wheel and pedals held on by Velcro. I got a Logitech g27, which is a very realistic wheel, it's steel wrapped with leather, and when you lose control of your car the wheel fights you like a real car would, it has a clutch pedal, paddle shifters, and a 6 speed shifter separated. I added a mount for a 51" tv, with surround sound speakers directly under it, right in front of the steering wheel. I also removed the pedals from the plastic case so I could flip them so they hung down from the top and acted like a real car pedals. I added a mount on to the side to hold the shifter, and my ps3 under it. I also use my gaming computer on it, so I made enough room for it to act as a mouse pad, and hold my ashtray. I then made a bracket to hold my rear surround sound speakers right behind my head.
My tv somehow broke during the final day, possibly while bringing it home, I don't know, but I ended up putting my old 27ish" tv on it... I'd like to eventually get a nice piece of diamond plate and make it run the while length, and mount a multi switch flush so I can easily have it wired.
