A new picnic shelter now sits in Jefferson Park. The shelter adds much needed shade to the very busy park that includes a playground, mural and a vast open play space.

The Hamilton Parks Conservancy was able to build it mostly with a grant that the City of Hamilton, Ohio - City Hall worked with them to receive. The pair of organizations, along with several community partners made this happen.

The park has continued to grow in stages, adding new pieces over the years. It's a key part of the revitilation of the Jefferson neighborhood, and a component to the Build Back the Block inniative.

🌳 Jefferson Park (1116 East Avenue) just got a little more inviting!

We joined the City of Hamilton, Ohio - City Hall to celebrate a new shelter, four picnic benches and $45,167 in park improvements, made possible in part by a $29,480 ODNR NatureWorks grant and funding from Hamilton Parks Conservancy.

Jefferson Park is also home to the first of eight new Pick & Play boxes coming to parks across the city. Thank you to Leadership Hamilton Class 28 for making them possible!

A special thank-you to Frank Pfirman for donating the land where Jefferson Park stands today. 💚

There is a new bookstore coming to Main Street in Hamilton that offers more than simply something to read. Spine & Vine (524 Main Street) is primarily a bookshop, but they also offer up coffee, espresso and w**e. The new store is set for their grand opening THIS Saturday, October 17th.

Owner Katherine Johnson imagines it as a "third place", a space where people can come, purchase a new book, get something to sip on and enjoy some reading amongst friends. The space is also perfect for hosting book clubs and author signings, something they hope to have in the evenings.

7 Days a week, 10AM - 6PM (special events from 6-8PM)

Leadership Hamilton Class 35 had a beautiful fall day to enjoy Quality of Life Day. They learned about Fitton Center for Creative Arts, City of Sculpture, The Lane Libraries, Hamilton Community Foundation (OH), Hamilton Parks Conservancy, Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park, and Hamilton Fire Department.

Primary Health Solutions continues to expand it's footprint, bringing more health care options to people in Hamilton. They celebrated the opening of a new pharmacy on the west side of town in their currnet building at 903 NW Washington Blvd. They will still have their downtown Hamilton pharmacy as well.

This new location makes it easier and more convenient for patients to receive their medication, "wether for an acute illness or chronic disease management", so they can start on a path to recovery quicker.
