Recruitment Letter
My name is Tiffany Yisra’el, and I am a doctoral candidate at Northcentral University.
The purpose of my research study is to understand the lived experiences of small business owners relative to their use of Business Process Management Systems during the first five years of operation, and to understand how successful use of these systems may contribute to business sustainability beyond five years.
Eligibility
You may participate in this research if you meet all of the following criteria:
1. You are 18 years of age or older.
2. You are the sole business owner of a small firm with between 1 and 50 employees (maximum of 50) including yourself, if you are currently working in the business.
3. Your small firm is currently in operation and has been active a minimum of five years.
4. Your small firm currently has an online presence (i.e., social media platform, or website, etc.).
5. You have experience with Business Process Management Systems (BPMs), processes used to aid in the day-to-day operations and administration of the business (i.e., customer service processes, file management processes, product or service implementation processes, etc.).
Research activities and time commitments include:
1. Participate in a 45-60-minute 1:1 interview via Zoom or Skype video conferencing.
2. Review interview transcript via email for 10-15 minutes.
The topics that questions will be asked on in this study include.
• Your experiences with developing and implementing Business Process Management Systems during the first five years of operation.
• Identifying Business Process Management Systems that were successful towards achieving the firm’s daily operations.
• Understanding the Business Process Management Systems and how they are aligned with business goals, objectives, and rules.
• The challenges you may have experienced in business during the first five years concerning Business Process Management Systems.
Incentives for participants
An incentive will be provided after you complete a screening process via email to determine eligibility, a 45-60-minute 1:1 recorded interview with researcher based upon your accessibility with one of the following options: Zoom, Skype, or Nextiva recording selections, and a 10–15-minute review of transcribed responses to ensure accuracy. You will receive one of the following: your choice of a ten-dollar ($10.00) emailed gift card, or one free business advertisement posted on two personal social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook) upon the completion of your participation in this study.
