🚧 Stop Work Authority without the right culture won’t be used.

You can give people the authority to stop work.
You can put it in policies, procedures, and posters.
But if the culture doesn’t praise, protect, and encourage speaking up—
that authority stays unused.

Today, during Justin Barksdale “Everyone Influences Safety” presentation, we had honest conversations about why it’s still so hard for people to speak up—even when they technically have the authority.

People don’t ask:
“Am I allowed to stop the job?”
They ask:
“What will happen to me if I do?”

And the answer is found in actions, not words.
