Hi everyone! My name is Hunter Windom, and I’m a local firefighter on the Northshore. I’ve officially launched The Fire Dog Vent Co., a firefighter-owned and operated dryer vent cleaning business right here in our community.

While set up doing some mobile work last week, I noticed that it was time for 2 new tires on the trailer. With our busy schedule that meant a quick phone call to Josh Lewis at J Lou’s Mobile Tire. At Trinity Safety Services, we often receive inquiries about the expected lifespan of fire extinguishers, and our response is always the same. "It depends on the level of maintenance and how they are stored." Here is a prime example of fire extinguisher longevity. Our friends at Antioch Baptist Church-Tickfaw contacted us on Friday to service their fire extinguishers. When we arrived, we found their extinguishers to be in immaculate condition. The only work that had to be done to these fire extinguishers was regular preventative maintenance including hydrostatic testing of the cylinders. These extinguishers were obviously kept inside, in a climate controlled area, and were also keep clean and free of any dust/dirt build up. We almost couldn’t believe that these extinguishers were manufactured in 38 years ago in 1987! Thank you for trusting us to service your extinguishers Antioch Baptist Church-Tickfaw! We look forward to building a great work relationship with you!

Folks…. Sit back and have a 𝙨𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙨𝙞𝙥. It’s time we had another one of our chit chats🫠 that I treasure oh so much. We see you botching this daily—especially in front of HomeGoods. You know, 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘼𝘽𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙐𝙏𝙀 disaster zone of a parking lot. Here’s a wild idea: This diagram…It’s how left turns 𝙎𝙃𝙊𝙐𝙇𝘿 be done. Both cars seeing oncoming traffic… what a concept🫠.

Please, for the love of all things holy (like HomeGoods fall decor), do better. We’re tired of the chaos🙄, and all the 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙢𝙪𝙜𝙜𝙞𝙣 with hands flying in the air when you see someone doing it the right way, but you still believe it’s the wrong way. I just can’t with y’all sometimes.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller is asking residents to refrain from placing their storm debris at the roadside.

Miller said Tangipahoa has not been approved by FEMA for a major declaration, which would include roadside debris removal.

Parish officials ask that citizens dispose of their storm debris, if they are able to do so.

We are proud to have the support of the five sheriffs in the five parishes our Juvenile Detention Center serves. St. Helena Sheriff Nat Williams, St. Tammany Sheriff Randy Smith, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard and Washington Parish Sheriff Randy "Country" Seal all know the Detention Center is important as they continue to fight juvenile crime to keep our families safe.
