Yesterday, I had the incredible honor of conducting a training session for the U.S. Congressional Office of International Leadership with delegates from Estonia at Old Dominion University.
Our session focused on Global Best Practices for Substance Use Prevention and Intervention, exploring evidence-based approaches, community partnerships, and culturally responsive models that can be adapted to strengthen international prevention systems.
It was inspiring to engage with such passionate leaders committed to improving public health and building resilient communities worldwide. đą
Key Takeaways:
⨠Shared international frameworks for prevention and early intervention
⨠Discussed the impact of stigma reduction and education
⨠Highlighted the importance of global collaboration in addressing substance use
Thank you to the Congressional Office of International Leadership, Old Dominion University, and the Estonian delegation for fostering such a meaningful dialogue on this critical global issue. And a big shout out to and Dr. Shuntay Tarver for coming to support and adding their expertise to the conversation.
