On Thursday, May 21, we were honored to return to New Horizons and receive a meaningful gift in recognition of our partnership and donation this year: a custom sign created for our entryway. It was a proud moment for our President, Senior VP, and Scaffolding Division Manager. What made it even more special was learning the sign was built by four female students in the Building Construction program. Their craftsmanship was outstanding, and it was encouraging to see young women participating in skilled trades training.

Main was excited to participate as an employer partner for New Horizons Regional Education Centers ’ Career Signing Day at Liberty Live on Thursday, May 7. We were proud to have eight students sign offer letters to begin their careers with Main Industries after high school graduation in Scaffolding, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Carpentry. We are excited to support these young shipbuilders as they begin their career journey and grateful for the strong work New Horizons is doing to prepare students to enter the workforce.

The event raised more than $45,000 for the James Barry-Robinson Institute, which supports youth from military-connected families. I was proud to represent Main and volunteer for the day.
