For over 30 years, my chief aim in ministry has not been about the prophetic, nor about pastoring, nor about preaching engagements; it's been about helping, supporting, and developing leaders in ministry and in the marketplace. That's my history, my track record, my M.O.

One thing I've found while working with leaders--both seasoned and emerging--is that many struggle to ask for help. With the load of ministry getting heavier by the moment in this pandemic, and burnout becoming an all-out epidemic, the truth is that WE ALL NEED HELP! The key is to know how to seek and get help before it's too late and it takes a toll on you, your ministry, your marriage, your family, your life.

Me and my wife know all too well what it means to need help, but not know how to ask for it because of pride, shame and/or fear. We also know what it means when someone sees you drowning and throws out a lifeline that saves your life just in the nick of time. Listen, in this season, please don't be too proud to ask (or yell) for help... even if you think you're in too deep... God has a lifeline ready just for you!

If you have ever been a thrower or receiver of a God-ordained lifeline, say AMEN in the comments!! (And if you need a lifeline right now, be bold and say "SOS!" We got you!)

Delayed doesn't mean denied.

Half of my announcement, which is "HUGE" for me. Archbishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr. has honored me by not only endorsing my book, but to bestow the honor of inviting me to return to Calvary Bible Institute (CBI)—an institution where I served as Dean 25 years ago—to teach for a semester.

I was raised in their home from age 11-16, and the foundation of the Christian faith was laid in me those many years ago. Those who know the Archbishop knows, not only is he and wife renowned faith leaders, but he is a bonafide academician for 30 years or so at Howard University School of Divinity and the English Dept.

This means a lot!

A disconnect that must be overcome in the Body of Christ is this:

Most believers in our churches hear from a pastoral ear. Its been that way for decades. We have not trained believers to be able (obtain the ability) to hear with an ear to hear an apostle, an ear to hear a prophet, an ear to hear an evangelist, an ear to hear a teacher.

Believers have an ear to hear a pastoral message. We have got to do a better job training believers to hear from all 5-fold gift ministries with ease.

If I went to a Conference in D.C. and the keynote speaker was the sitting U.S. Attorney General, I'd expect to hear things that pertain to law and order. If I were to attend a Conference with the sitting Secretary of State, I'd expect to hear things that pertain to diplomacy and foreign affairs.

Not all churches, but most churches, the believers often cannot distinguish and hear from the 5-fold Gift Ministries.

In ths hour collectively we must do better at equipping the Body of Christ.

As I'm embracing being an author for the 2nd time, my past work, and this more advanced book transported me to a place in life where my transparency, honesty, and desire to see not only the best in people, I also want to contribute to others success, their growth and deliverance.

I've said it before, I'll repeat it throughout my time left here on earth: I'm too flawed to be embarrassed! It's not a cute catch phrase or anything like that. But it's liberating to be able to stand before your own mirrors and be ok with your reflection. I don't have to waste time standing in front of windows trying to see what's wrong with others.

The Force Multiplier Effect: Have you ever wondered about the what, the why and the how of Deut 32:30, where it says, “One shall chase a thousand, and two shall put ten thousand to flight”? When you see this phrase in scripture, it’s referring to the army nature of the Body of Christ. Our call is to stand as God’s army and extend His glory and power in the earth.

We all have the *force multiplier* power of the living God in us to do great and impossible things.
