What does it mean when a "Snow Emergency" is put in place?

🚫PARKING RESTRICTIONS KICK IN
~ No parking on designated snow emergency routes (main roads, hills, bus routes, emergency corridors).
~ Vehicles left there can be ticketed or towed so plows can pass.

🛣️ TRAVEL MAY BE LIMITED
~ Residents are asked to stay off roads unless necessary.

Some places restrict travel to:
> Emergency vehicles
> Essential workers
> People dealing with urgent situations

(Not always strictly enforced but strongly encouraged.)

🚜 SNOW REMOVAL OPERATIONS TAKE PRIORITY
~ Plows run continuously.
~ Crews may salt heavily, close roads temporarily, or reroute traffic.

🏫 CLOSURES OFTEN FOLLOW
~ Schools, local offices & services and businesses may shut down.
~ Trash pickup or municipal services can be delayed.
