Hardwick Post & Beam is looking to add a timber framer to their team of crafts people. We are a 35 year old company dedicated to the creation of all kinds of timber frame structures throughout the north east.

This position is for an apprentice level or an experienced Timber Framer. We would love to bring someone in who has a great understanding of carpentry and timber framing but would be willing to train the right person up.

We offer ample time off and health insurance while also covering all travel expenses when needed. Our pay will be based on experience but is ranging from $15-$30/hour for this position.

This is a full-time position from 7:30-4:30 and will include some travel for the raisings.

It has been a busy summer, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down! We have been cutting a variety of frames and putting them up as fast as we can, so I have been a bit behind on these updates.

Earlier this week we put up a western red cedar pergola for a client down in the South Shore that we built a home for. Its nice to tie the outside landscaping to the inside. Below is a photo of the guys after they just hauled that 8x10x20 cedar plate in to position. Its always nice when those tenons fit just right!

Now the crew is back on a raising putting up a white pine addition in Rutland MA. Lets hope the weather holds out for the next three frames to raise this month! Stay tuned.

This unusual house, with a steep-sided slate roof and stone veneer walls, was inspired by Cotswold (English) cottages. The owners wanted their dream home to have Cotswold design features and authentic materials.
