Here are some of my favorite tips to help you stay grounded while getting tattooed:
-Breathe deeply
-Shift your focus
-Bring music, a podcast, or a stress ball
-Reframe the sensation as waves that pass Take care of yourself before your appointment (eat, hydrate, get good sleep)
