Federal law requires any truck that has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or gross vehicle weight of more than 10,000 pounds to be inspected. Truck inspection kits are available at the Shelby County Farm Bureau office and only cost $1 each. Tags are valid for 12 months from the date of inspection. Stop in anytime during regular office hours to purchase.

Alayna Hansen of Loess Hills Ag in the Classroom added to the fun at the Shelby County Fair with an engaging lesson about corn. Kids learned about the many everyday products that contain corn ingredients and discovered why corn is such an important crop in Iowa agriculture. The hands-on activity helped participants better understand the important role corn plays in our food, fuel, and countless other products we use every day.
