Back in NYC doing work that fills my heart.

Today I had the joy of leading an Improv for Collaboration & Communication workshop, using play, creativity, and connection to help strengthen leadership skills. Tomorrow, I'll be facilitating a leadership circle with 54 talented future leaders.

For the past 15 years, I've had the honor of serving as a Senior Empowerment Trainer with the Bella Abzug Young Women's Leadership Institute. Watching young people discover their voices, build confidence, and step into their leadership never gets old.

Sometimes people ask how I blend improv, healing, storytelling, and leadership. The truth is, they've always belonged together. Improv teaches us to listen, collaborate, adapt, and trust ourselves. Leadership asks the very same things of us.

I'm deeply grateful to be doing work I love with an organization I love, alongside young leaders who continue to inspire me with their courage, curiosity, and vision for the future.

TAMPA! You’re next!

I’m thrilled to bring my award-winning solo show, Perra P**a Loca Bruja: A Latina’s Reclamation Journey, to the Tampa Fringe Festival as the 4th city on my 6-city tour.

What began with a performance in Carlisle has grown into a journey through New York City, Orlando, San Diego, Tampa, and Harrisburg—sharing stories of ancestry, healing, identity, and liberation with audiences across the country.

Perra P**a Loca Bruja is a fierce, funny, and deeply moving solo show blending storytelling, comedy, ritual, bilingual poetry, music, dance, and ancestral truth. Through four feminine archetypes: Perra, P**a, Loca, and Bruja, I explore womanhood, cultural identity, ancestral healing, and the power of reclaiming the stories we’ve inherited.

Yesterday afternoon I had the joy of leading a workshop on Improv for networking with a wonderful group of professionals. So many people walk into networking events feeling pressure to perform, impress, or deliver the perfect elevator pitch. As a full-time digital entrepreneur for 15 years, I’ve had so many experiences with networking for business that it was fun supporting this group because improv shifts that dynamic completely.

When we practice listening, saying “yes, and,” and staying present, networking becomes less about selling yourself and more about real human connection. It helps people build confidence, think on their feet, collaborate, and build authentic relationships.

Then this morning I was back in the classroom teaching improv to kids ages 9–12, and the magic was just as powerful. For young people, improv builds creativity, communication skills, teamwork, and confidence.

It also teaches an important life lesson: mistakes aren’t failures, they’re opportunities to keep playing, learning, and supporting one another.

From professional spaces to classrooms, the core lesson is the same: when people feel safe to be themselves, listen deeply, and build on each other’s ideas, incredible things happen. Grateful to keep sharing the power of improv with so many different communities.

A great morning guiding students through an Improv for Teamwork & Communication session today at a local high school.

Improv helps students build strong teamwork by teaching them to listen actively, support one another’s ideas, and collaborate in real time toward a shared goal. It strengthens communication skills by encouraging clear expression, adaptability, and confidence when speaking in front of others. Through playful practice, students learn how to navigate differences, respond thoughtfully, and contribute meaningfully within a group and let’s not forget how much fun it is!

There are many exercises in Improv training that require non-verbal communication. Partners and teams reading each other’s body movements to collaborate and fulfill the exercise.

As much as i love my words, i love a non-verbal exercise because it strips away some cultural differences, language and expression and creates a way to communicate beyond words.

This is something i see in new york A LOT. Today, a young mom started to lose control of her baby stroller and five people without talking, barely a glance (mid-stair climb ) held the mom steady while four others held the stroller bringing her to safety. A nod, a look, a smile and the five disappeared into the subterranean multitudes.

No one gasped, clutching their pearls and said,” oh my what do we do?”

It was no-nonsense, business as usual- do what must be done.

I first started traveling on the subway at the age of 13, taking three trains to Lincoln Center to get to La Guardia HS of the Arts. I’ve seen practically everything and ive been helped by strangers as well as helped. I know theres the rare news were a crime occurred and no one helped… after over 30 yrs on the subway that more often than not- we help.

My phone slipped under the chair behind me on the Amtrak and the woman next to me automatically turned on her phone flashlight. I said outloud,” oh no my phone.” The guy behind me reached under and grabbed it quickly. Smiles all around.

You maybe thinking “yeah, whatever, thats normal.” Is it? I hope so. I hope we continue caring about each other and jumping in to help when we can. I’ve experienced blackouts, hurricanes, 9/11 and more in NYC- and the people never fail to amaze me. Our world seriously needs our kindness. 🙏🏽💛
